Global citizenship education in Nepal

چکیده

The article explores how educational policy, curricula, textbooks and teaching have translated thinking about Nepal’s relationship with the rest of world into global education practice in Nepalese schools contemporary classrooms. Drawing upon framework a policy cycle approach, addresses following research questions: What are key messages Nepal within ‘macro’ context influence? How is theme communicated through content at ‘meso’ text production? perceptions social studies teachers respect to learning themes ‘micro’ practice? Qualitative analysis documents was conducted, while thematic interview data undertaken understand objectives recommendations related citizenship Nepal. findings indicate that policies primarily aim socialise nurture responsible citizens, processes mostly emphasise acquisition knowledge. Some made as curriculum, pedagogical approaches might be adapted better support young people seeing themselves citizens.
